Exclusive Track Premiere: Dawn of Ashes, “Guardians”

0

This coming June, industrial/symphonic black metallers Dawn of Ashes will release Daemonolatry Gnosis, their seventh full-length album, and today’s we’ve got a taste of what’s in store for you with a lyric video for “Guardians,” the album’s first single.

The track’s got all the hallmarks of everything that’s endeared us to the band over their long career: it’s dark and gritty but strong on melody with traces of the industrial elements that marked their earlier material, and the symphonic flourishes are bombastic but tasteful, blending seamlessly with the song’s black metal underpinnings. It’s headbangable and cerebral; it’s got something for everyone.

Daemonolatry Gnosis was mixed and produced by Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh (Carnifex, Bleeding Through, etc), and features a cover of Mayhem’s “Freezing Moon” and a guest vocal performance from Cradle of Filth’s Lindsay Schoolcraft. It comes out on June 9th through Metropolis Records; pre-order here.
