Katy Perry Used to Protest Marilyn Manson

As if being a former back-up singer who wasn’t a back-up singer for P.O.D. wasn’t embarrassing enough, Katy Perry has now revealed in a new interview with Vogue that she used to protest Marilyn Manson:

“’Amy Grant was our Madonna. We knew about Madonna and Marilyn Manson in my family because we picketed their concerts.’ At a Manson concert in Santa Barbara, she handed out pamphlets titled ‘How to Find God.’ She ended up going in to watch the performance with her youth pastor and, to her surprise, found it ‘really interesting and weird—I got it.’”

Okay okay, so it’s not Perry’s fault that she had a religious upbringing.

But she still should have been able to hear that P.O.D.’s music sucks. Now that is the shit you wanna protest.
