Chon Release New Song “Homey” and Announce New Album

0

Seeing Chon open for Periphery this past fall was an eye-opening experience — people looooooove Chon! Not that I’m too shocked — they’re a very good band, and they’ve been doing it for a minute now — but I was impressed at how far they’ve come since we first started tracking the band in 2011 and the level of fervor from the crowd. Not only was the room jam-packed for their time slot (first of four on the package) but people were going APESHIT, jumping up and down throughout their set despite the relative chill vibes of their music.

All that’s a long-winded way of saying I expect big things from this band in the wake of their forthcoming album Homey. The band’s released a new track called “Sleepy Tea” that’s typical Chonian fare — jazzy, proggy happiness —  along with a retro-themed 16-bit video that’s easy on the eyes (apparently 16-bit is the new 8-bit). Check it out below.

Homey comes out June 16th via Sumerian Records; pre-order here.
