Progressive Metal Band Artificial Language Release New Track “These Aren’t Mirages”

0

Everywhere I look, I see or hear about some new prog metal band trying to get more exposure. I love me some meadily-meas as much as the next guy, but I can’t help but feel like the genre is getting a bit stale. Artificial Language, a band relatively new to the scene who are trying to make a name for themselves, just released their new track “These Aren’t Mirages,” and I have to admit it isn’t half bad.

Guitar-wise it reminds me a bit of The Human Abstract’s early material — think along the lines of Nocturne, just less chug-ridden — which is awesome, but vocally it’s lacking that wow-factor. Not that I require screaming or anything, but I enjoy a little more push behind the vocals… it just fits so well with metal as a genre.

That being said, at just under four minutes the track flew by and I found myself enjoying it, especially during successive listens. Give it a shot if you’re so inclined. We’ll find out how the rest of the band’s new album The Observer is when it’s released on April 28th.

Pre-orders can be made here. Follow the band on the book-face here. Video is below as per usual.
