Five Finger Death Punch are now down a finger.

In a new interview with Denver’s 106.7 KBPI, vocalist Ivan Moody reveals that he has left the band, asserting that “Death Punch and I have kind of come to a crossroads” and he’ll now be concentrating on a new project, Villain.

Rock Feed reports that Moody will remain with the group through the end of 2017, meaning the band’s upcoming tour dates will be unaffected.

Moody has been the center of controversy for some time now. In 2015, his sister took out a restraining order against him and a woman who may or may not have been his wife made accusations of physical abuse. He also suffered on-stage breakdowns in both May of 2015 and November of 2016. Following the second incident, he was temporarily replaced by Phil Labonte from All That Remains.

As of this writing, the band has yet to issue a statement.

Meanwhile, the group is still embroiled in a heated lawsuit with their former record label, Prospect Park.

How will Moody’s departure impact FFDP? It’s VERY hard to replace your lead singer — for every Dio or Hagar, there’s a Martin or Cherone. So the band almost certainly faces an uphill battle with regards to replacing Moody.
