Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper have announced that they’ll return to the stage as headliners of London’s Metal Brew festival on July 15 — six months, almost to the day, since Grimmett’s leg was amputated to combat an “aggressive infection.”

Say the fest’s organizers:

“This year we are honoured to host Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper’s UK come back show! As most of you will know, Steve was taken seriously ill in January this year whilst the band were in Ecuador. This resulted in Steve having most of his right leg amputated. Since then he has taught us all the meaning of perseverance and positivity and just six months later is ready to get back on stage. We hope you will join us in giving him a hero’s welcome for what is set to be an amazing show!”

Grimmett, you may recall, was recently outfitted with the most metal prosthetic leg ever. That the dude is already plotting his first shows back is pretty amazing. I think a lot of us would be curled up in a ball racked by depression if we were in the same situation. To say we’re all rooting for the dude would be an understatement of massive proportions.
