Tour Rumor: Exodus and Obituary

0

Obituary just wrapped up their stint on the annual Decibel Tour with Kreator, Midnight and Horrendous, and they’re about to hit the road with Gruesome, Matt Harvey’s (Exhumed) Death-worship band.

But that won’t be the end of their touring plans for 2017: guitarist Trevor Peres revealed in an interview with Ghost Cult Mag [transcribed by The PRP] that the band is eyeing a co-headlining run with Exodus after they return from some dates in Europe this summer:

“We got like a two week B-market run, we’re gonna kinda do more East Coast-ish stuff in the middle of May—we’re headlining that with Gruesome. And then, this summer, a handful of festivals and some club dates in Europe. And then we’re looking at a U.S. run, co-headlining, possibly with Exodus, looks like we’re gonna do. And then we got a big thing planned for Europe, direct support. I can’t tell you who with yet, ’cause it’s not a 100% inked…”

Take that with a grain of salt since he says “possibly with Exodus” and further qualifies his statement with “looks like.” But take it more seriously than just any rumor, since he follows that up by saying he can’t reveal who Obituary’s fall European tour is with… implying he can reveal the Exodus pairing, or at least he thinks he can.

Mixed messages, for sure, but it would certainly be a neat pairing if it does come to fruition. It would need to take place after August 20th, since Exodus guitarist Gary Holt will be tied up with Slayer — who are touring with Lamb of God and Behemoth — until then.

More as we get it.
