Dez Fafara is a Manager Now

Dez Fafara, vocalist for DevilDriver and Coal Chamber and star of commercials for Honda, is getting into the management business: a press release tells us that Fafara has launched The Oracle Management alongside Mark Viera, formerly of Good Fight Management and Prosthetic Records. In addition to DevilDriver, the firm’s first clients include 1349 (for North America only), Tombs, Ringworm, Black Tusk, The Casualties, Amigo the Devil, and Vattnet Viskar, who have apparently shortened their name to simply ‘Vattnet.’ I guess that ‘Viskar’ was really weighing them down.

Fafara is by no means the first musician to get into the management business (see: Chuck Billy, Howard Jones, etc.), and given that he’s been a successful working musician for twenty years, it’s safe to assume he knows a thing or two about a thing or two. That being said, it’s the participation of Viera that gives me confidence in The Oracle; MetalSucks has been working with Mark since forever and that dude is legit. In fact, most of the bands listed above are ones with whom Viera has already been managing for some time.
