Hey friends. How’s everyone doing? Good? Good, good. Glad to hear it!

So hey listen, not to pry or anything, but I just so happened to notice that your coffee table is looking a little bare. I know, I know — it’s really hard, as a fan who lives and breathes extreme music, to find tchotchkes which are appropriately METAL. But let me ask you this… have you ever considered getting a cool coffee table book before? Perhaps something which looks totally badass and classy but metal as fuck and educational and able to provide a flat surface for rolling joints, too?

What’s that you say? No such book exists? Au contrairemes amis — such a book most certainly DOES exist. We know, because we just wrote it.

Yes, it’s true — myself and Christopher Krovatin, known to MetalSucks readers as the wise and powerful Emperor Rhombus, have co-authored a new book about the glorious racket which consumes us all. It’s called Hellraisers: A Visual History of Heavy Metal Mayhem, and it will be released by The Quarto Group in the fall. Here’s the (mind-blowingly rad, if I do say so myself) cover, which was illustrated by one Mr. Mark Riddick:

Assuming Chris and I did our jobs correctly, Hellraisers will be a visually dynamic history of heavy metal that covers proto-metal to deathcore and djent and everything in-between, complete with exclusive interviews with members of bands such as Cannibal Corpse, The Obsessed, Killswitch Engage, Suicide Silence, Periphery, and Coal Chamber, over 200 photos, genre-by-genre playlists, examinations of various aspects of metal culture, and plenty more.

We’ll have more details about the book for you in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, you can pre-order it here! Hot tip: you don’t even really need a coffee table to enjoy it!!!
