Watch Prophets of Rage’s New Michael Moore-Directed Video, “Unfuck the World”

0

Prophets of Rage and Michael Moore go together as well as… well, as well as members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. It’s a great match, and it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the greatest liberal filmmaker of our time has teamed up with the greatest far-left rock and hip hop musicians of the past three decades. Moore also directed Rage Against the Machine’s 1999 video “Sleep Now in the Fire.”

The video juxtaposes footage of Prophets performing live with media coverage of various hot-button political and social issues from the past few years, including white supremacist fuckhead Richard Spencer getting punched in the face, the riots in Ferguson, MO, the Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad and plenty of footage of Donald Trump doing various things. There’s also a clip of a cat playing a keyboard thrown in, because the video wouldn’t be a true reflection of 2017 without that, would it?

Says Moore:

“I am thrilled to once again be working with my old friends and comrades in the struggle for a just world. Prophets of Rage is the right band saying the right shit at this very critical moment. This music video is our collective battle cry against those who seek to harm the innocent and the powerless. I am proud to have directed this video and I ask all who see it do their part to unfuck this world. ALL HANDS ON DECK!”

Prophets of Rage will release their self-titled debut album on September 15th.
