Listen to “Shadows of Silence,” Myrkur’s First Song in English

“Shadows of Silence” is not a typical Myrkur song… and not just because it’s the Danish black metal chanteuse’s first song with English lyrics. Sure, the ethereal vocals will sound familiar, but save for a relatively brief section from 3:21-3:54, it’s not at all black metal. It’s much closer to folk metal, but most of it isn’t even really metal in the strictest sense.

Which isn’t to say it’s not good! It’s more haunting than Casey Affleck in a bedsheet. I’m into it.
