Arkaik Stream “Occultivation”, Announce New Album and Tour

0

Sick ass tech-death band Arkaik have just announced the release date for their newest album, Nemethia, set to come out September 29th, as well as a tour of the US that kicks off on the 8th of that same month.

Nemethia looks like a great collaborative effort between a lot of artists, with guest appearances featuring former Arkaik guitarist Craig Peters, Arde Ostowari formerly of Burning The Masses, and even Stephen Paulson of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, a bassoonist. Zack Ohren produced, engineered, and mixed the effort.

Guitarist Greg Paulson said about the new album:

“This is the most involved I’ve been on an Arkaik record so far. The songs are more thought out and meticulously crafted. I wanted to retain the sonic brutality Arkaik is known for, while introducing new elements to further expand on the band’s sound. I incorporated greater symphonic instrumentation throughout the record and utilized my classical background to add more depth and dynamics to the arrangements.

The album is overall more complex, I even added some harmonized vocals to blend with Jared‘s voice, making for some interesting layered textures. This is sure to be the most unique Arkaik album to date. I’m really proud of what we created and hope people enjoy it.”

Yeah, that’s definitely apparent. “Occultivation,” the first track off the new album, is something special for Arkaik. I can tell they are proud if it and the album, as they very well should be: this song has a different feel compared to their past, but it is absolutely in line with the Arkaik sound, just better. It sounds meticulously crafted, sculpted with precision, and it translates to something far more otherworldly than what they’ve released before.
