Listen to Stone Sour Cover Rage Against the Machine’s “Bombtrack”

0

We need Rage Against the Machine. If ever there were a time for them to let bygones be bygones and do a proper U.S. tour… man, they’d fuck shit up, now more than ever. Incite the masses! These apathetic masses need inciting, and I can’t think of anyone better to do it. Burn the fucking house down.

Stone Sour are all aboard the Rage train with their latest, a cover of “Bombtrack” from the latter’s ferocious self-titled debut. It feels right to hear Corey Taylor belting Zack de la Rocha’s timeless lyrics because, duh, Taylor’s got a brain.

The track comes as part of Metal Hammer Magazine’s Metal Hammer Goes ’90s compilation, which comes free with the latest issue (available here). Here are some of the other tracks included on the CD, which looks very awesome, and interestingly also included Prophets of Rage:

Stone Sour – “Bombtrack” (Rage Against The Machine cover)
Halestorm – “Fell On Black Days” (Soundgarden cover)
Prophets Of Rage – “Shut ‘Em Down” (live) (Public Enemy cover)
Epica – “Replica” (Fear Factory cover)
Hatebreed – “Refuse/Resist” (Sepultura cover)
Powerwolf – “Night Crawler” (Judas Priest cover)
Enslaved – “Jizzlobber” (Faith No More cover)
Cult Of Luna – “Bodies” (Smashing Pumpkins cover)
36 Crazyfists – “We Die Young” (Alice In Chains cover)
Fleshgod Apocalypse – “Heartwork” (Carcass cover)

The One Hundred – “New Skin” (Incubus cover)
