Paradise Lost Premiere Relatively Upbeat New Song, “Blood and Chaos”

Well well well… it sure does sound like someone is back on their meds again. “Blood and Chaos,” the just-released second single from Paradise Lost’s new album, Medusa, is downright fast n’ bright by this band’s standards. This despite the fact that its predecessor, “The Longest Winter,” was the musical equivalent to getting caught in a massive rain storm with no umbrella. The contrast  between the two tracks suggests that the band’s new album, Medusa, is either not going to sound as old-school-PL as we initially thought, or is going to feature some fairly diverse material.

I’ll be honest: I much preferred “The Longest Winter.” But that’s just me. My worldview is that life is one long series of umbrella-less rainstorms, so obviously that tone suits me. Those of you who still foolishly have faith in the human race may favor “Blood and Chaos.”

Only one way to find out: check out “Blood and Chaos” below! Medusa comes out on September 1st via Nuclear Blast; pre-order it here.
