Video Premiere: Uncured, “Stygian Valley”

0

The young guns in Uncured, who we featured here on MetalSucks this past spring, are off to QUITE the start of their burgeoning career.

Following the release of their self-released debut album Medusa, they scored a sweet opening spot with Katatonia on tour in North America earlier this year. They’re about to begin a five-week run with DevilDriver, 36 Crazyfists and Cane Hill, after which they’ll go out for another month with Children of Bodom, Carach Angren and Lost Society. That’s some serious touring!

Now they’ve teamed up with esteemed director David Brodsky to film a video for Medusa track “Stygian Valley,” just in time for their spate of touring to kick off. Says the band of the clip:

“‘Stygian Valley’ is one of our favorite songs to play live. It has brutal riffs, technical passages, aggressive vocals, and big grooves that always get a pit moving. We wanted a video that illustrates the excitement and power of this song live to give new fans an idea of what to expect from Uncured when we tour with DevilDriver this August and September.

David Brodsky is one of the great film-makers in the industry, and working with him was an incredible, comfortable, and natural experience.  He essentially just asked us to deliver our live performance while he stepped back and filmed. We love the result as it captures the energy of Uncured on a big stage.  We hope that the video gets DevilDriver fans out to the show early to hear all of the amazing bands on this classic summer metal tour.”
