Points for originality alert!

Belphegor have released a new song called “Apophis – Black Dragon.”  Musically, it sounds like every Belphegor song you’ve ever heard before. But the lyrics are really interesting because they’re written in a plethora of languages. I’m not saying the track is bilingual. I’m saying some of it is Latin, some of it is in English, some of it is in Italian, some of it is German, etc., etc. Which I honestly can’t remember a band ever having done before.

Insofar as what the lyrics actually mean, I’m not entirely sure. But it actually kinda makes sense that they’re in so many different languages, thereby making them a somewhat confusing read: Apophis was the ancient Egyptian god of chaos.

Check out “Apophis – Black Dragon” via the below lyric video. If anyone is feeling patient enough to translate the entire thing to English, drop us a line.

The track will appear on Belphegor’s new album, Totenritual, which comes out September 15 on Nuclear Blast. You can pre-order it here.
