Earlier this month, Lars Ulrich revealed that Metallica were working on a super-duper extra-special deluxe remastered edition of Master of Puppets. You may be super-duper extra-special deluxe excited to learn that the band has now officially announced said super-duper extra-special deluxe remastered edition of Master of Puppets. As you probably guessed, in addition to the remaster of the record as we all know it, the package will include a ton of super-duper extra-special deluxe goodies as well. Take it away, Metallica Marketing Team!

“Available in both physical and digital versions, we’ve got several options for your Metalli-pleasure… CD, vinyl, 3-CD expanded edition and deluxe box set. The 3-CD set includes the remastered album, a disc that is a combination of rough mixes, demos and an interview, and a disc featuring a mix of live songs that are sequenced into a typical set list from the Damage, Inc. tour. The limited edition deluxe box set includes unreleased demos, rough mixes, interviews and live tracks, many of which have never even been available in the collector or bootleg community and were pulled from our personal collections. There’s also a 108-page hardcover book with rare and never before seen photos and essays from those who were there with us for the wild ride. All in all, there are three LPs, ten CDs, a cassette, two DVDs, a lithograph with art by Pushead, a folder with handwritten lyrics, and if that isn’t enough to push you over the edge, we’ve also thrown in a set of six buttons (!).

“Pre-order your copy now and we’ll send you a digital remastered version of ‘Disposable Heroes’ while 3-CD and deluxe box pre-orders will also receive a download of ‘The Thing That Should Not Be’ live at the Aragon Ballroom, Chicago, IL recorded on May 25, 1986. Several additional instant grats will be sent to all pre-orders between now and November 10th.”
