Exclusive Song + Video Premiere: Chepang’s “Choila”

Full disclosure: we weren’t really familiar with Chepang before our good friend Frank Huang from Max Volume Silence Live put together the video for their new single, “Choila”… but goddamn if we don’t owe Frank thirty or forty shots for introducing the Nepalese grindcore act into our lives. As exemplified by “Choila,” their new album, Dadhelo – A Tale of Wildfire, offers up modern grindcore at its gnarliest: a frenzied and demented viper’s nest of a song, ADHD but consistently killer, like a Frankenstein’s monster sewn together from the disparate body parts of only the most attractive corpses. The worst thing we can say about “Choila” is that it’s only ninty-five seconds long; it will leave you wanting more, guaran-fuckin’-teed.

Check out “Choila” below! Dadhelo – A Tale of Wildfire will be out in November on Nerve Altar (U.S.) and Holy Goat (GER). Keep your eyes peeled to Chepang’s Bandcamp page for purchase info! The group will play a record release show at Brooklyn’s Bar Matchless on November 4; get tickets here. They’ve also just been added to Obscene Extreme Fest‘s 20th anniversary edition in July!
