Video: Devin Townsend Appears on Bulgarian Talk Show; Hilarity Ensues

If you’ve never heard of Slavi’s Show, don’t worry, it probably just means you’re not Bulgarian. In any case, according to Wikipedia…

“Slavi’s Show (Bulgarian: Шоуто на Слави) is a long-running Bulgarian evening talk show aired every workday on bTV from 22:30 to 23:30 EET and hosted by Slavi Trifonov. Occasionally, the show also airs live at 20:00 EET.”

Really glad they got that occasional change of air time in there.

ANYWAY, I bring the show up because the inimitable Devin Townsend was recently a guest on the program. Townsend was there was promoting his special Ocean Machine concert, which took place on September 22 at the Ancient Theatre in Plovdiv, but also possibly because he and Trifonov share a physical resemblance (by which I mean they’re bald and wear glasses). It’s a little difficult to follow — Devy needs a translator, natch, so there’s a lot of people talking over each other, which sometimes makes it hard to understand what’s actually being said — but you get the gist of it. And the gist of it is, Devin, as always, is hilarious. I am going to figure out a way to work “You don’t cry after sex?” into every conversation I have for at least the next week.

As icing on the cake, the video is also way educational. For example, did you know that ‘Photoshop’ is Bulgarian for ‘Photoshop’? FASCINATING!
