We’ve been hearing about Bill & Ted 3 since at least 2012, when Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) was announced as the movie’s director. We even know what the story is about. And yet, here we are, in 2017, and although the duo have since found new life in comic books, the flick itself obviously still has yet to materialize. Last we heard, in 2014, the film allegedly still hadn’t been produced due to budget concerns, but since then, all has been quiet on the San Dimas front.

Unfortunately — or maybe fortunately at this point, if we’re being honest — we still have no idea when, or even if, the movie will eventually get made. We do, however, now know what it will be called if it ever does come to fruition: IndieWire reports that during an appearance at The New Yorker Festival this past weekend, Keanu Reeves revealed that the title will be Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Which is… fine, I guess? It breaks the trend of the titles using B&T-friendly adjectives, which is kind of a bummer (in the way that things that do not matter even remotely are still sometimes kind of bummers, of course). One of the aforementioned comics was called Bill & Ted’s Most Triumphant Return, which seems like a far more appropriate title, doesn’t it?

Of course, it’s entirely possible that the name changes if/when the movie ever actually goes into production. During that same appearance, Reeves said, “Hopefully we’ll make it before I’m sixty.” As of this writing, he is fifty-three. I guess we’ll see what happens between now and 2024.
