Periphery’s Spencer Sotelo Shares New Track “White Noise” from Endur Side Project

Being in a popular band has its merits (duh), but also its creative drawbacks, namely that fans expect you to always write music in a certain style. That’s why side projects are always so much fun to hear; they provide a window into what kind of music artists would be making if not for the creative shackles of their day-job bands.

So it is with Periphery vocalist Spencer Sotelo, whose Endur side project just released a new track called “White Noise” that finds him venturing even further into the electronic realm. Whereas “Death Angel,” released a couple of weeks back, was still rooted in rock, this new one goes all out into the synthiverse. It’s really cool to hear Sotelo fully exploring these sounds — as he did on his contribution to Periphery’s 2014 Clear EP, on which each member wrote one track — and these two songs have got me excited to hear a full album of this.

American Parasite comes out on October 27th via Sumerian and can be pre-ordered here.
