Bad Wolves (ex-DevilDriver, God Forbid, Divine Heresy) Sign Record Deal, Release New Single

The world was first introduced to NWOAHM supergroup Bad Wolves — featuring former God Forbid guitarist Doc Coyle, former DevilDriver drummer John Boecklin, and former Divine Heresy vocalist Tommy Vext — this past spring via the incredibly catchy single “Learn to Live.” One may have expected that single to be followed immediately by some sort of album announcement, which obviously wasn’t the case. Some may have even feared that Bad Wolves were one n’ done.

But fear not! The group has now, at last, offered a fresh update: they’ve signed with Eleven Seven Music, have tentative plans to release their debut album in the spring of 2018, and have released another catchy-as-chewed-gum-on-your-shoe track, “Toast to the Ghost.” So the Bad Wolves wheels are indeed a-turnin’.

What’s interesting about the band is how they’ve retained the elements that made God Forbid and DevilDriver so great — i.e., super-magnet-powered hooks — but don’t sound exactly like either of those groups. There’s a djentier element to the Bad Wolves material we’ve heard so far that one probably would not associate with NWOAHM. I’m into it.

Check out “Toast to the Ghost” below. We’ll let you know when there’s an official title and release date for their record.
