“Zibba Zibop”: Fieldy’s New Song is Somewhat Less Terrible Than Anticipated

As previously reported, Fieldy from Korn is going to release a new solo album, Bassically. Up until now, we didn’t know what any of the songs on the record would be called, but it has become apparent that Fiedly’s incredible talent for naming things won’t stop with the album titled: the first single is called “Zibba Zibop,” presumably because “Scat Jazz Song” was already taken.

While nothing about the track is as brilliant as its title, it is definitely better than a Korn song (and most certainly has more meaningful lyrics than most of those penned by Jonathan Davis). Unsurprisingly, Fieldy’s bass playing is the worst thing about it. If you can tune it out (which, admittedly, is a challenge, given how high it is in the mix), though, and focus on Ray Luzier’s drum performance, it’s totally fine.

Listen to “Zibba Zibop” below. Fiedly’s Bassically comes out sometime and can be pre-ordered somewhere.
