Harakiri for the Sky’s “You are the Scars” is the Best Metal Track You’ll Hear Today

Good news for folks like me who have fallen madly in love with Harakiri for the Sky’s new album: it doesn’t come out until 2018, meaning I didn’t massively fuck up by not including it on my Best of 2017 list! Phew. I was genuinely worried there for a minute — this album is that good.

“You are the Scars” is the second track to be released from the album so far — following “Tomb Omnia” last month — and FUCK, this music just makes me feel things. Things that are at once aching, melancholic and triumphant. The musical formula isn’t groundbreaking — bands like Insomnium, Swallow the Sun and Omnium Gatherum have been cranking out this style of melodeath-doom for years — but the vocal approach here is, bringing it a distinctly third wave black metal feel. the result is absolutely gorgeous and completely terrifying at the same time.

You are going to love this. I swear. Warrel fucking Dane is dead, for the love of god… you need this right now.
