QOTSA’s Josh Homme Also Injured a Security Guard at Los Angeles Show

Shutterstock photographer Chelsea Lauren wasn’t the only person Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme injured at the band’s show this past weekend in Los Angeles: a security guard stationed in the photo pit with the photographers allegedly had a light kicked into the back of his head by Homme.

The allegations come via photographer Jeff Kravitz (whose credits include Getty Images and MTV) in a Facebook post dated December 10th that’s just now making the rounds:

“Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age sent two people in the photo pit to the medic last nite. One was photographer Chelsea Lauren who posted a video of getting kicked in the head that is just shocking in it’s casual approach to violence. The other victim was a security guard who got a light kicked into the back of his head. Never in all my years have I seen such a bully on stage. He also insulted Muse and sliced his own face open with a knife. When you have no talent you have to get attention by being a moron. He’s banned and this is the last time I will shoot him.”

Kravitz added via Twitter:

“Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age sent two people to the medic. Photog @ChelseaLaurenLA and a security guard with head wounds. Check out Chelsea’s video. He also insulted @muse and sliced open his own face with a knife. I’ll never shoot him with a camera again. Bully.”

The security guard hasn’t spoken publicly about the incident, his identity isn’t known, nor is there video of the incident, perhaps explaining why his case has received less attention than Lauren’s.

After issuing a half-baked apology through the band’s Instagram account, Homme later posted his own personal apology video. We’ll wait and see whether he issues any further words about the security guard.
