The classic line-up of Chimaira — frontman Mark Hunter, guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries, bassist Jim LaMarca, and keyboardist/sampler Chris Spicuzza — reunited for a new edition of their once-annual Chimaira Christmas concert in Cleveland this past Saturday. (Unfortunately, drummer Andols Herrick had to sit out the show due to his ongoing health issues, and was replaced by another one of the band’s former members, Austin D’Amond; but to paraphrase Scott Ian’s father-in-law, five outta six ain’t bad.) It looks like the show was a total rager with a packed house, which makes it all the more bittersweet for those of us who couldn’t be there.

Luckily, we have a whole lotta fan-filmed footage from the show, which included not only standards like “Pure Hatred” and “Power Trip,” but deep cuts like “Lazarus” and “Army of Me.” So we can at least kinda-sorta enjoy this event while we keep our fingers crossed that the band announces more shows in the future.
