Zakk Wylde Suffering from “Severe Illness”; Black Label Society Postpone Four Shows

Poor Zakk Wylde is not having the best couple of months here. In December, his home was endangered by the Southern California wildfires (we never found out how that was resolved, which I hope means the story had a happy ending). Now he’s been forced to postpone four shows on Black Label Society’s current tour with Corrosion of Conformity, Eyehategod, and Red Fang due to “severe illness”:

“Due to severe illness and my inability to perform, Black Label Society must postpone the shows in Montreal, Toronto, Grand Rapids & Oklahoma City until summer of 2018. New dates will be announced soon, please hold onto your tickets, we will be back to perform for our fans as quickly as possible.”

Since only four gigs have been pushed back, it seems safe to assume that whatever health issue is currently plaguing Zakk, it’s not nearly so serious as in 2009/10, when he was hospitalized for blood clotting in his legs. So that’s a relief.

Here’s hoping Zakk feels better soon. Assuming he does, the BLS tour will resume this Saturday, January 13 in Dallas; get dates here. Black Label Society’s new album, Grimmest Hits, comes out January 19 on eOne; listen to the new single, “Trampled Down Below,” here, and pre-order the album here.
