You Guys, This New Myles Kennedy Track, Though

0

If Myles Kennedy had basically any other metal lineage he’d be consider a god amongst men, worshipped the world over for his stellar, gorgeous, powerful pipes. But, because he once played in a band with guys who used to play in Creed he’s tainted.

To you, jaded metalhead, I say this: GET OVER IT! Kennedy is the Robert Plant of our times. From the vocalist of Slash’s solo band to Alter Bridge to The Mayfield Four, Kennedy has proven time and again how versatile a vocalist he is, and now his skills are on display in perhaps the most raw way to date: his own solo record.

On “Haunted by Design,” his latest single, Kennedy’s voice is way up front; you breathe it, you live it, you feel it. The folksy music underneath is the perfect vehicle; no loud guitars or drums in the way, just a simple, stripped down song.

No, this isn’t metal… not at all. It’s barely even rock. It’s just really fucking good.

Myles Kennedy’s debut solo album Year Of The Tiger comes out on March 9th via Napalm Records; pre-order here.
