Napalm Death Release New Single “Oh So Pseudo”

Depending on where you live or how devoted of a Napalm Death fan you are, “Oh So Pseudo” may or may not be new to you. It was included as a bonus cut on Japanese editions of the grindcore legends’ most recent album, 2015’s Apex Predator — Easy Meat. But you’re not from Japan and didn’t go out of you way to be an import, your ears will now be graced with track for the first time: it’s been released as a single to promote Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs, an upcoming compilation of rarities and covers from the past ten years.

In an accompanying statement, bassist Shane Embury says that “Napalm Death is a band that gives 100% when writing a song,” and that’s readily apparent from listening to “Pseudo.” It’s as good as anything on Apex Predator; the fact that it was left off most versions of the record almost seems arbitrary. I felt the same away about “Nurse the Hunger,” another track from the Apex sessions that ultimately didn’t make the album (you can listen to it here). Clearly, Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs is gonna be worth your time in a way that a lot of contract-fulfilling comps are not.

Check out “Oh So Pseudo” below. Coded Smears And More Uncommon Slurs comes out March 30 on Century Media. Pre-order it here.
