Video: Tina Fey Sings System of a Down on Saturday Night Live

I love Tina Fey — she did, after all, once provide us with a concise-yet-accurate Winds of Plague review — but did not love “Talent Show,” the below sketch from the SNL episode she hosted this week. So much so that I actually fast-forwarded through most of it, and thus did not realize until this morning that it ends with a pretty decent System of a Down gag involving Fey’s character and her ‘daughter,’ played by Melissa Villaseñor. I’m assuming Villaseñor, who is thirty, wrote the sketch, because a high school kid today would probably not be all that into SOAD, given that it’s been more than a decade since the band released anything. Still, I appreciate not being made to listen to Asking Alexandria or Attila or whatever an actual high school kid would rock.
