Monolord Announce 2018 North American Tour

0

We all need true release in our lives, those fleeting moments when we completely forget about the outside world and become totally absorbed in the moment. The older we get the harder those moments are to come by, be they by working out or playing sports, jamming on your instrument of choice, watching a good film, having sex… there are plenty of ways to get there, so to speak, but the daily grind of life and our compounding neuroses pose great obstacles to doing so that only snowball as life goes on.

Live music, of course, is a fantastic release, and there’s something about sludge / stoner / psychedelic rock and metal that’s especially well-suited to the goal of letting go and simply not giving a fuck. The hypnotic riffs and vocals, the repetition, the cycle of climax and release… it’s perfect to lose yourself inside, if only for a few minutes (or, ideally, a full hour-plus!).

So won’t you come out to see Monolord later this summer when they tour North America? They’ve got the fix for what ails you, I promise. True story: one time I went to see Monolord alone and was feeling a bit self-conscious and shy, and a minute or so into the band’s set some random guy passed me a joint. I definitely got there that night… that’s for sure.
