Ghost Fans Have Raised Almost $7,000 for the Family of the Man Who Died at Their Show

Ghost fans have raised nearly $7,000 for the family of Jeffrey Fortune, the 52-year-old fan who died during their concert in Milwaukee, WI last week.

Naturally, Ghost cut their performance short after Fortune collapsed; they also canceled an afterparty to celebrate the release of their new album, Prequelle. And although some fans have alleged that venue staff didn’t take action as quickly as they should have to obtain medical attention for Fortune, official reports assert that he died of natural causes (he had a history of cardiac issues, including heart failure).

Now Ghost fans are doing the menschy thing and raising money for Fortune’s family. Ghost American Ministries, one of the band’s many fan clubs, have launched a crowdfunding campaign which, as of this writing, has already earned $6,980; given that the campaign’s initial goal was $1,000 that is, obviously, quite spectacular. I’m sure even the Nameless Ghouls’ chilly hearts are warmed by their fans’ selflessness.

Of course, donations are still being accepted. If you wish to give, you can do so here.
