Enuff Z’Nuff Still Alive, Release New Song
While you’d need to live under a pile of eyeliner not to know who Mötley Crüe and Poison were, one could be forgiven for having no idea that there was ever a band called Enuff Z’Nuff. For one thing, as their name suggests, they really represented a low point for glam metal (which is saying something). They also may have marked the nadir of bands with a namesake member, ’cause we somehow went from Eddie and Alex Van Halen (their real names!) to Axl Rose and Tracii Guns (semi-plausible fake names) to Chip Z’Nuff (gimme a fucking break).
For another thing, their 1989 self-titled album only just barely a kinda-sorta big deal, thanks predominantly to the success of the remedially catchy “Fly High Michelle,” the music video for which is surely history’s greatest moving picture celebration of rainbows, balloons, and doves.
Despite what you might expect, though, it turns out that Chip Z’Nuff is still alive (although he strongly resembles the bloated corpse of the love child of C.C. DeVille and C.C. Banana) still doing Enuff Z’Nuff (albeit without singer/guitarist Donnie Vie), and still insisting that people call him ‘Chip Z’Nuff.’ Enuff Z’Nuff 2.0 (or whatever iteration this is) are now signed to Frontiers, who have taken the CMC/Deadline mantle of Labels That Put Out New Releases by Old Hair Metal Bands.
In fact, Enuff Z’Nuff will release a new album, Diamond Boy, on August 10th, which is surely delightful news to their tens of fans. And they’ve debuted the first single, “Metalheart,” which, again, I’d describe as ‘remedially catchy.’ Like, this is the glam equivalent of a Triple A riff. Still, there’s always the chance that this isn’t the worst song you hear today; Impending Doom, for example, could drop a new single any second now.

Enuff Z’Nuff will be part of the Mega Manopause Tour this summer along with whatever is currently passing for Great White and the fucking Bullet Boys, another band that falls under the heading of “They’re Still a Thing?”.
