A Sound of Thunder’s “It Was Metal” IS, Indeed, Very Metal

0

A Sound of Thunder know that the #1 most crucial element to making any song as metal as possible is having it be literally ABOUT metal itself. Power metal bands are the only musicians outside of hop hop artists that seem to realize self-referential lyrics are really the fucking best, and we salute them for it eternally. Country singers do it sometimes too. But can you imagine an indie rock band writing a song with lyrical content about the sound of jangly guitars ringing out while sipping rosé on a warm spring afternoon? Doesn’t quite work.

A Sound of Thunder’s latest, “It Was Metal,” comes along with a nifty animated video. Comedian (and huge metalhead) Brian Posehn lends a voiceover to the track, which is just as glorious and grand as the video. One-time MetalSucks columnist Nina Osegueda’s voice absolutely KILLS on this one!

The band’s new album It Was Metal comes out today! Order it here.
