So Marilyn Manson recorded of a cover of Gerard McMann’s “Cry Little Sister” — or, as you may know it, the “Thou shall not” song from The Lost Boys — for the soundtrack to The New Mutants, one of the new X-Men movies. That movie was initially scheduled to come out two months ago, but due to extensive reshoots, won’t actually be released until August of 2019. Manson, however, has a tour with Rob Zombie to juice, and there’s only so many stories about making Korn ingest your bodily waste one can tell, so I guess the powers that be arranged it for him to release the song now.

ANYHOO, it’s a Marilyn Manson cover, so you know what to expect: it sounds a little more industrial, Manson isn’t a very good singer, and otherwise it’s the same exact song as the original. He got creative with his “Sweet Dreams” cover and kinda-sorta-not-really creative with his “Tainted Love” cover and then all of his other covers have pretty much been bullshit. So. Yeah. Here:

And here’s the original if you’re too young to remember The Lost Boys, are pop-culturally challenged, or just feel like listening to it:
