Photo: Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd Spotted in the Studio with AC/DC

Brian Johnson has been out of AC/DC since 2016 after his hearing degraded to the point he couldn’t carry on. Ex-drummer Phil Rudd was booted in 2015 after a string of arrests involving drug possession and attempting to procure a murder, among other charges.

Why, then, would both men be spotted in the recording studio with AC/DC?

The short answer is that we don’t know. It certainly could have been a friendly visit for some chit-chat over coffee.

But here’s what we do know: an AC/DC fan who lives near Warehouse Studios in Vancouver — where AC/DC recorded each of their last two albums — spotted Johnson and Rudd together on the studio’s deck, “where various band members seemingly retreat to get some air, use the barbie, and drink coffee (or perhaps Jack Daniels) from white mugs.” And she’s got a photo to prove it.

Here’s where things get even more interesting, though: it seems Axl Rose, who many rumors have indicated would be the full-time vocalist for AC/DC on the band’s next album and touring cycle (and who filled in live when Brian Johnson left), is also in Vancouver.

So take all that as you will. My best guess is that Axl is still going to be the full-time vocalist with Johnson currently in the studio for some guest spots. No idea what to say about Rudd. But you can read the full report at The Georgia Straight and check out that photo below.
