Exclusive Full Album Stream: Lowlands by Zevious (Featuring Members of Dysrhythmia, Sabbath Assembly, Etc.)

0

New York City’s own Zevious is an instrumental trio that consists of  Mike Eber (Smother Party), Jeff Eber (Dysrhythmia), and Johnny DeBlase (Sabbath Assembly, Many Arms), and if those names don’t make your hairs immediately stand up on end, we have to assume it’s only because you’re somehow unfamiliar with those bands. Allow us to catch you up: these are three insanely talented musicians who have made their names writing and performing music that defies easy categorization.

Zevious is no exception. On their fourth full-length release, Lowlands, the band continues to blur the lines between prog, jazz, and metal to create something likely to appeal to all fans of forward-thinking music, regardless of the genre. At no point does the band achieve, say, a Psyopus-level of heaviness, but they’ve definitely got the mathcore gene for resisting conformity in favor of bravely exploring uncharted territory. Put more succinctly: you really need to check out Lowlands.

Which you can do below! It will get a vinyl and digital release THIS FRIDAY, August 17, via Nefarious Industries; find preorders at the label webshop here and via Bandcamp here. The group will play a special record release show on Friday, September 7 at Brooklyn’s Ceremony; support will come from Cleric and Mick Barr (Krallice, Orthrelm, etc.). Be there or be square!
