Bangladeafy are Backladeafy

It’s appropriate that Bangladeafy’s upcoming release is called Ribboncutter, ’cause a) even though the band has been around for a minute, this will actually be their debut full-length, and b) Ribboncutter finds the experimental noise rock outfit, generally known as a drum n’ bass duo, adding an extra dimension to their sound by leaning on the synths, hard.  In fact, the title track, which debuted today on No Clean Singing, is 100% bass-free.

That shouldn’t give you pause; even without a stringed instrument, Bangladeafy have maintained their penchant for writing elastic, spazzy music that defies easy categorization. “Ribboncutter” sounds like your NES is having an anxiety attack. It had never really occurred to me before now that these fellas might be influenced by the late, great Ghengis Tron, but “Ribboncutter” definitely recalls that electro-grind trio. If that doesn’t make you wanna check it out, I dunno what will.

Listen to “Ribboncutter” the song below. Nefarious Industries will release Ribboncutter the album digitally and on CD September 21st, with vinyl arriving several weeks later. Find preorders at the Nefarious webshop here and Bandcamp here.
