Future Usses (Intronaut, Bereft, Etc.) Streaming Debut Album The Existential Haunting

If you’re like me, you love This Will Destroy You, even as you wish they were a bit heavier, as their name suggests they might be. If that’s the case, then boy oh boy, have I got a band for you: Future Usses, the new project featuring guitarist Sacha Dunable (Intronaut, Bereft, Graviton), drummer Derek Donley (Bereft, National Sunday Law), and bassist Dan Wilburn. On their debut album, The Existential Haunting, the trio offer up roughly forty minutes of music that is paradoxically weightless and dense, expansive and intimate, soothing and threatening. I don’t know how they did it, but they did it, and they did it well.

MetalSucks had the honor of debuting the Haunting track “What Is Anything” back in July, but now Decibel are streaming the entire record in advance of its Pelagic Records release this Friday, September 14. We highly recommend it, and as we stated above, it contains multitudes, so it’s appropriate more or less regardless of your current mood.

Stream The Existential Haunting below. Pre-order here (North America), here (Europe), or here (Australia).
