Metallica Announce Special One-Off Acoustic Show for Charity
Say what you will about Metallica’s musical direction of late (and lord knows, PLENTY has been said), but you can’t knock the guys for not being absolutely stand-up fellas. They’ve always been excellent at engaging with their community and helping those in need, and those efforts culminated last year with the launch of their very own charity organization, All Within My Hands, dedicated to benefitting “our foundation focused on creating sustainable communities by tackling the issues of hunger and workforce education and encouraging volunteerism.”
Metallica just announced a rare one-off acoustic show in their native Bay Area this coming fall, the proceeds of which will benefit All Within My Hands and the charities it supports. The show will take place on November 3rd at the Masonic in San Francisco with Cage the Elephant opening.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, September 21st at 10am PDT via Ticketmaster ranging between $250 and $1,250. The band is also offering the opportunity to obtain floor seats via an eBay auction with bids starting at $6,250 each. Before you knock the band for those astronomical ticket prices, remember that they’re not keeping any of it for themselves.

“A little over 18 months ago we announced the formation of All Within My Hands, our foundation focused on creating sustainable communities by tackling the issues of hunger and workforce education and encouraging volunteerism. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be celebrating our first full year with the All Within My Hands Foundation Helping Hands Concert and Auction on November 3rd at the Masonic in San Francisco. We hope you will join us to see what we’ve been up to, learn about the organizations we’ve supported, bid on some cool auction items and we’ll close out the night by hitting the stage for a rare acoustic performance. Also joining us for that evening will be our friends Cage The Elephant.
