November 16 will be eighteen months, almost to the day, since Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell took his own life. It’s an appropriate date, then, for the release of Chris Cornell: An Artist’s Legacy, a collection of eleven previously unreleased songs curated by Cornell’s widow, Vicky.

One of these tracks, “When Bad Does Good,” is now available for you to stream below. It’s a great song, its melancholy vibe only enhanced, obviously, by Cornell’s ultimate fate. It pains me to say this, but I think it’s actually much better than anything he did after the Soundgarden reunion; I’m not sure why it’s been unreleased until now.
