Within Destruction Show Off Their Favorite Metal T-Shirts!

0

A metalhead’s t-shirt collection contains some of their most prized possessions. Sweaty, stained and torn, our shirts are chronicles of our lives, physical markers of a past time and place that we pridefully put on our bodies every day. They have a clear pecking order: there are those shirts you wear only when all the best ones are in the laundry, there are the absolute favorites you wear once every couple of weeks, and there are all the shirts in between, each with their own clear rank. To a metalhead, T-shirts are EVERYTHING.

Within Destruction are the latest metal warriors to share their most prized threads for a full-band collaborative entry of My Metal T-Shirt CollectionWithin Destruction are on the Bloodletting North America Tour with Arsis, Decrepit Birth, Internal Bleeding and others starting this week (dates at the bottom of this post).

Luka Vezzosi (drums)

Slipknot

Slipknot were one of the first metal bands I was introduced to, along with Limp Bizkit, back in 1999. Fun fact: I was a kid back when I discovered Slipknot and I had mixed feelings about them. I was scared of them because of all the stories I read in magazines but at the same time the music was too interesting to be ignored. This was the first metal t-shirt I ever owned. I randomly found it at a bootleg store on the seaside.

Darkthrone

In my high school days I discovered Satyricon, and so my black metal era began. I’ve always been drawn towards more raw black ‘n’ roll bands as opposed to symphonic stuff. This was one of the first black metal t-shirts I owned and black metal played an important part in my musical past. Now I usually wear this shirt at shows so people think we’re true metalheads.

Kristjan Bajuk (guitars)

Disentomb

Two years ago was our first ever tour with Kraanium, Visceral Disgorge and Disentomb. I had never heard of them before, but I was blown away the first time I saw their set. I really like charismatic singers and Jawd is exactly that. He makes you feel like you wanna punch something again and again, haha! It was a pleasure to hear them play every day on tour. When I came back home their album Misery was on repeat for quite some time!

Walking Dead on Broadway

Walking Dead on Broadway are another bunch of super sexy dudes. They joined us on our Deathwish EU/UK tour earlier this year. Their music and live performance were amazing. I really liked their new stuff and am looking forward to hearing more from them. I bought this shirt because I’m a sucker for “Hiragana/Kanji” letters on merch, hahaha!

Rok Rupnik (vocals)

Bleed From Within

One of my first, and to this day favorite, shirts I own. Bleed From Within were one of the “extreme” metal bands I really got into when I first started listening to this kind of music. This led me to discover other bands within the genre. I also think the design is pretty cool.

Science of Sleep

This one was received as a gift from the vocalist of the band, so it’s not just a mere piece of clothing but also represents a memento of a friend. I think it’s cool when objects also hold a sentimental aspect to them.

Janez Skumavc (bass)

Knocked Loose

Knocked Loose are a band which I’ve been following for a long time. They have all the elements of music that I really love: all those slow-tempo, brutal, disharmonious breakdowns along with awesome lyrics. It’s just amazing. Also their sound, WOW!

Touche Amore

I really enjoy wearing my t-shirt from Touche Amore because I simply LOVE this band and their presence. I guess I like more hardcore/post/melo music, which goes great while riding a BMX.
