Members of Korn, Gwar, Sevendust and More Perform Pantera Classics at Aftershock in Tribute to Vinnie Paul

Though it’s been a few months now since the passing of Vinnie Paul at the young age of 54, his absence still sits fresh in our minds. This past Saturday (October 13th) at the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival, an all-star cast of rock and metal musicians from all over the board took part in a tribute to Paul, whose band Hellyeah were scheduled to play at the event before his tragic death this summer.

Classics from Pantera and Damageplan were performed in memory of the late drummer, with one of his personal kits being shared on stage by all the participating drummers. Korn’s Johnathan Davis and Godsmack’s Sully Erna teamed up to tackle vocals on “Walk” then pased off the mic to Blothar of Gwar, who performed “Mouth For War” and “A New Level.” Hellyeah bassist Kyle Sanders was also present, as well as members of Shinedown, Sevendust, and Deftones.
