Slipknot to Play Iowa State Fair

I’m fairly certain I’ve used the phrase “playing state fairs” as an insult in the past, but I guess that just gives away that I’m a city mouse. ‘Cause it’s been announced that Slipknot will perform at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand on Saturday, August 10 of next year. And while Slipknot have played to massive crowds all over the world and opened for some of their heroes and appeared in movies and blah blah blah, The Des Moines Register says that Clown says that the gig will be a special one for the band:

“It’s not only work and commerce; there’s a lot of spirituality here for me. It’s gonna be a really good time to play the fair and walk out and enjoy the fair.”

Leave it to Clown to imbue a goddamn state fair with mystical import.

You can read more of Clown’s thoughts on the show, and get additional details, here.
