This K-Pop Band Monsta X’s New Song Got 2.4 Million Views in 24 Hours

Yesterday we received a press release about “Korean pop sensations” Monsta X, who are allegedly staging “a worldwide comeback” (later revealed to simply be their sophomore album). I don’t know much anything about K-Pop but I found the band’s image is intriguing — as well as their dubious “worldwide comeback” claim — so I decided to give it a go.

It’s catchy. It’s got some pseudo-heavy moments (kinda) and lyrics in both Korean and English. Lots of sick choreographed dance moves. It’s eminently likable.

As of the time I’m writing this, it’s got over 2.4 million views despite having been released yesterday. The band is about to “make history” (more dubious/hilarious press release copy!) as the first K-Pop group to perform on the Jingle Ball main stage in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Boston and Philadelphia. Put another way: they’re serious fucking business.

We are in the wrong genre, people. Fuck all this Corey Taylor shit. Forget calling out racists, misogynists and pedophiles! I’m changing the name of this site to KPopSucks effective immediately. I can’t wait for all those clicks! I’m gonna be rich!
