Prophets of Rage Get Out the Vote in New Song/Video “The Ballot or The Bullet”
Prophets of Rage’s new song “The Ballot or The Bullet” begins with footage of Malcolm X giving that very quote. As if you had any doubts about which side of the political fence the men of Prophets — which features members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill — fall on.
The group explains of the new track, the video for which features depictions of school shootings, Black Lives Matter, protests from the civil rights movement and, of course, our wonderful president:
“There are people trying to keep many of us from being able to vote. Don’t squander the rights we’ve fought so hard to get. Agitate, organize, resist, and rebel. Before, during, and after election day. In the words of Malcolm X, ‘It’s got to be the ballot or the bullet’.”
Tuesday, November 6th. Go vote. It starts here.
