The Megacruise Will Have Poker Tournament, Clinics, Trivia Night, Used Gear Auction, Megadeth Beer and More

The Megadeth-themed Megacruise is shaping up to be quite the paradise for megafans of Megadave and co. Like way over-the-top Megadeth-themed everything. As in you probably shouldn’t go on this cruise unless you’re prepared to be surrounded by all Megadeth all the time.

Drummer Dirk Verbeuren (ex-Soilwork) revealed in a recent interview with the Music Mania Podcast that, in addition to the bands booked to perform on the cruise (with more still to be announced), the cruise will feature a number of Megadeth-themed events. Among those will be a poker tournament with members of the band, clinics by the same, a Megadeth-themed trivia night, an auction featuring Megadeth memorabilia and used gear, the band’s A Tout le Monde beer and more:

“We got a lot of cool stuff. Basically, it’s a Megadeth cruise, so there’s going to be a lot of special Megadeth things happening.

“For example, all of us are going to do some clinics. Dave [Mustaine] and Kiko [Loureiro] will do a guitar clinic, David [Ellefson] will do a bass clinic, I’m going to do a drum clinic, so those are all special events. We’ll talk a little bit about our instrument, how we approach playing, people can ask us questions, so we’ll have Q&As. There’s also, of course, meet-and-greets, but we’re also going to have really special stuff like a poker tournament.

“We’re going to have a trivia night, a Megadeth-themed trivia night. That will be a fun thing. There will be a beer tasting for À Tout Le Monde, of course. We’re also going to have an auction where you can have a chance to buy some special Megadeth memorabilia and used gear.

“For anybody that’s a fan of the band, it’s an event you don’t want to miss. It’s the first time we’re doing it, so we’re really excited about it. Like I said, it’s just a whole different experience both for us and the people who will be there. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing.”

Doesn’t sound like an ideal vacation for me, but I’m willing to be there are plenty of fans out there who can’t wait for an all-immersive Megadeth experience like what’s being offered.

The Megacruise will run from October 13th through 18th of 2019, stopping at Los Angeles, San Diego, and Ensenada, Mexico. Tickets start at $1,085 per person and run up to $5184 per person for special VIP packages. Tickets are available here.
