Video: Meshuggah’s “Bleed” Covered on the Cello

0

Raphael Weinroth-Browne is back with another of his patented cello covers of metal songs — you might remember his renditions of Lamb of God’s “Walk with Me in Hell” and Opeth’s “Harvest” — this time with a searing rendition of Meshuggah’s modern-day classic “Bleed.”

At first I was a bit lukewarm on this one — the beginning section doesn’t sound much different on cello than it would on guitar — but as the song progresses Weinroth-Browne takes more liberties with the arrangement and allows the unique timbre of his cello to shine through. I dig!

Raphael notes that “everything in this track except the drums was recorded on an acoustic cello running through both a Fender Deluxe amplifier with effects pedals and a DI box in addition to a close mic.” You can support him on Patreon. Watch below!
