Iron Maiden’s Original Line-Up Reunites for the First Time in 42 Years

Well, this is sweet: over the weekend, 4/5ths of the earliest-ever Iron Maiden line-up got together to hang for the first time since 1976. Specifically, the chill sesh included bassist Steve Harris, singer Paul Mario Day, and guitarists Dave Sullivan and Terry Rance (drummer Ron “Rebel” Matthews did not attend).

Although only one of these musicians — bassist Steve Harris (duh), who famously formed the band on December 25, 1975 —  stayed on to be part of the Maiden we all know and love, all of these dudes have a place in metal history. Plus, old people can be adorable when they’re not practically begging to be put on an ice berg and pushed out to sea. So this should warm the cockles of your heart.
