AngelMaker Bring More Chugs on New Song “Radiance in the Light of a Dying Sun”

0

In our article from early January about AngelMaker’s then-new song “Hollow Heart,” I said this:

“Former MetalSucks intern Mitchel Winney absolutely loved AngelMaker. When I pressed him on what exactly he dug so much about the band over their many deathcore peers, he couldn’t really answer… and that conversation resulted in an editorial entitled “The Problem with Deathcore” in which he lamented that the genre is “all the same shit, over and over again,” amongst other problems.”

I quote myself not because of laziness, but to quickly recap the present AngelMaker situation and get you all up to speed. (OK, maybe a little because of laziness). “Hollow Heart” didn’t do much to impress me, but I certainly didn’t hate it or anything. How does the band’s latest, “Radiance in the Light of a Dying Sun,” compare?

Well, I just listened to it three times through and none of it really stuck with me (except for the guitar solo, which is decent), so that certainly isn’t saying much. Again: I’m not saying AngelMaker are bad or anything, I just don’t hear anything about their music that sticks out from the pack.

Feel free to disagree with me in the comments below (and tell me why! I would genuinely like to know). AngelMaker keep teasing a record release for this year but have yet to announce many details, although the YouTube still for “Radiance in the Light of a Dying Sun” says it’ll be self-titled… so that’s something.
